***FIRE DANGER UPDATE***

Ready to ride? Effective Thursday, September 16, ODF’s off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails have reopened due to a reduction in fire danger. For more information on current fire restrictions, please visit the following links:

***TFC CLOSURE UPDATE***

The Tillamook Forest Center will be closed the remainder of the 2021 season. The closure is in place to help limit exposure to COVID-19 and protect our entire community, to comply with state office closures, and to allow us time to rebuild our staff. We anticipate reopening in March 2022. The closure includes gates to both the bridge and parking lot. Updates will be posted on our website and Facebook page as they are available. We look forward to seeing you when we can reopen safely.

While the center will remain closed to the public, staff are still accessible to provide customer service via phone and email.

For current information on Tillamook State Forest recreation facilities (campgrounds, day-use areas, and trails), please visit the recreation list on the ODF website.

Your Coast Range retreat

Whether you’re planning a family picnic in the woods, hoping to watch spawning salmon or looking for an adventurous climb to the top of a forest fire lookout (check out the views right now), the Tillamook Forest Center is ready to be your Coast Range retreat.

Oregon’s forest education and recreation center beckons from the lush green landscape of the northern Coast Range Mountains.

Just over a century ago, this territory was served by stagecoach and home to frontier families. Today, an easy hour’s drive west of Portland, the Tillamook State Forest has plenty of stories to tell and special places to explore. The Tillamook Forest Center, an inviting escape nestled in the forest and overlooking the Wilson River, awaits your discovery.

This website is filled with all the information you’ll need to plan your visit to the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Tillamook Forest Center; to gather information about the programs, exhibits and current events; to learn about this remarkable forest that has recovered after devastating forest fires; and to get ready to make your own connection with Oregon’s Tillamook State Forest.

Come on up and see us, and find yourself in the forest.
